Visiting Lanzarote in the Canary Islands

The unreliable summer weather in the UK means that British tourists are often forced to take a holiday abroad to get their quota of sunshine. What was once seen as a luxury is now an essential part of our yearly expenditure, especially when the climate confounds expectations with high rainfall in July and August.

On the other hand, however, the choice of destinations grows ever larger and many holiday hotspots are now extremely affordable to visit, thanks to the low cost airlines that have opened up these routes. Lanzarote, for instance, is a hugely accessible location, with good weather all year round.

One of the major advantages of visiting this Canary Island is that flights to Lanzarote are only four hours long from all major airports in the UK. Making it just far enough to ensure a warmer climate whilst also keeping airline prices relatively affordable.

The other factor that makes this island a firm favourite are the lower than average cost of villa rentals. Again, Lanzarote’s popularity means there is a wide range of holiday villas in Playa Blanca for instance, which start at prices considerably cheaper than destinations such as Majorca.

This is in no way a reflection of the quality of accommodation but is the natural consequence of the holiday season covering all twelve months of the year, rather than from Spring to Autumn. Villa owners therefore stand to gain a steady year round income from their property.

As a result, many visitors to the island have been tempted by the prospect of a holiday rental property that can potentially earn a steady income all year round. It explains why this style of property for sale in Lanzarote is capable of quickly providing a return on the owner’s investment.

A good proportion of villa owners manage to combine their own use of the property with a regular cycle of holiday makers, getting the best of both worlds by being able to escape the UK climate regularly whilst still generating an income at other times.

The three main resorts of the island offer the best opportunity to maximize returns on rental properties, as this is where the vast majority of tourists will want to be located. And property in these three coastal towns covers every style and type of accommodation imaginable.

Those who are seriously considering a holiday home as an investment will find they can choose from studio apartments to spacious seafront villas, with a good selection available across the price range.
